Bruxelles m’a libéré.

Bruxelles m’a apaisé.

Bruxelles m’a guéri.

The show retraces the journey of General Valsero, from a general who became a father. The progress from a defender of human rights and individual freedoms, known for his fights for the protection of marginalized minorities and above all for the advent of a true democracy in his country – the Cameroon – to a caring daddy, a lovely husband, who advocates love and family values.

“When I arrived in Belgium I was frustrated, angry and above all sad. Despite the presence of my wife and my daughter and their love, I felt terribly alone.

By dint of demands, by dint of denunciation after multiple arrests, detentions and banned concerts, after 10 long months of incarceration in a high security prison in my country in 2019, my fate is sealed.

I was finally forced into exile, made stateless by my government.

I was psychologically and spiritually in tatters when I arrived in Belgium. Even though I was far away, I still felt like I was in prison.

Brussels freed me.

When I arrived in Belgium I was tormented.

Brussels soothed me.

When I arrived in Belgium I was a bruised man.

Brussels cured me.

My friends call it the “Parc du Cinquantenaire effect”, my open-air paradise in the heart of the city.

For me it was the magic of this town that brought me back to life. It was precisely sitting on a bench at the Parc du Cinquantenaire on a gray afternoon, as only Brussels can produce, that I wrote the first song which will ultimately be the expression of the man I have become: Par Amour.

Before arriving in Belgium I was just a man, an activist rapper married to a beautiful woman and with awesome daughters. I was General Valsero.

Brussels made me a father and a husband.

Today I am Daddy.”

Vous me manquez is the first single from the Général Valsero’s new album.

In this title the artist lets his pain be expressed, the lack that tortures him and the emptiness that inhabits him.
