Roland Cristal propose des productions de techno Lo-fi où se confondent samples issus de l’internet et voix de son enfance, sur un fond rythmique généralement simple et puissant. Si son univers DIY fait souvent référence à celui de Dimension Bonus (ex Salut c’est cool), certaines sonorités suggèrent l’aspect atonal de Mr. Oizo ou encore l’efficacité froide et épurée de Kraftwerk.

Après un EP de techno médiévale, un album sur l’océan, et un album sur les pierres, Roland Cristal prépare un retour aux sources de la teuf, avec un nouvel album pour 2025…

Roland Cristal creates lo-fi techno productions that blend samples from the internet with voices from his childhood, set against a generally simple and powerful rhythmic backdrop. While his DIY style often references that of Dimension Bonus (formerly Salut c’est cool), certain sounds suggest the atonal aspect of Mr. Oizo or the cold, refined efficiency of Kraftwerk.

Roland Cristal maakt lo-fi techno waarin samples van het internet en stemmen uit zijn kindertijd samensmelten met een over het algemeen eenvoudige en krachtige ritmische achtergrond. Hoewel zijn DIY-universum vaak verwijst naar dat van Dimension Bonus (voorheen Salut c’est cool), doen sommige klanken denken aan het atonale aspect van Mr. Oizo of de koele en uitgepuurde efficiëntie van Kraftwerk.

Na een EP met middeleeuwse techno, een album over de oceaan en een album over stenen, bereidt Roland Cristal een terugkeer naar de basis van feestvieren voor, met een nieuw album voor 2025…
