2025 verra le retour triomphal de l’auteure-compositrice-interprète R&B Nao. Une année qui démarrera sur les chapeaux de roue avec la sortie d’un quatrième album, ‘Jupiter’ le 21 février prochain et une tournée européenne et nord-américaine, qui passera la Belgique ! Après avoir été chanteuse de studio et professeure de musique, Nao commence à écrire ses propres morceaux en 2014. La Londonienne développe un style personnel qu’elle appelle “wonky funk” et compose des ballades aériennes entre soul, funk et musique électronique, portées par sa voix particulière à la fois jeune et expérimentée. Les résultats sont immédiats grâce à deux EPs salués par la critique et une collaboration bien sentie avec Disclosure (« Superego »). En 2016, son premier album ‘For All We Know’ vaut à Nao une nomination aux Brit Awards dans la catégorie “Best British Female Solo Artist”. Après une tournée mondiale et des collaborations avec Mura Masa (« Firefly »), Ariana Grande (« Be Alright ») et Stormzy (« Velvet / Jenny Francis – Interlude »), son deuxième album ‘Saturn’ sort en 2018. L’album est largement salué pour son audace et son caractère expérimental et récolte une nomination au Mercury Prize ainsi qu’aux Grammy et aux Brit Awards. Son troisième album ‘And Then Life Was Beautiful’, sorti en 2021, est un recueil profondément introspectif façonné par les défis et les transformations du monde pendant la pandémie. Il obtient 5 étoiles de médias tels que NME, The Guardian et The Observer. Le nouvel album de Nao marque le début d’un chapitre passionnant dans sa carrière. Following her pursuits as a studio singer and music teacher, Nao began writing her own songs in 2014. The London-based singer developed a unique style she calls ‘wonky funk’, writing breezy ballads at the crossroads between soul, funk and electronic music, carried by her signature voice that sounds both young and experienced. A hit, thanks to two widely acclaimed EPs and an equally successful collaboration with Disclosure (‘Superego’). In 2016, her debut album ‘For All We Know’ was released, earning her a nomination for the Brit Awards in the ‘Best British Female Solo Artist’ category. After a world tour and more collaborations with Mura Masa (‘Firefly’), Ariana Grande and Stormzy, her second album ‘Saturn’ is released in 2018. Praised for its daring and experimental nature, the album was nominated for the Mercury Prize, the Grammys and the Brit Awards.
